I still don't see how one extra glyph slot is the breaking point when we already have one, but you are welcome to your opinion. The idea of an extra glyph slot was just because legendary should be better than standard in some way. What something like this would do is give a QoL improvement for the people who have 1 set of unbreakable tools but would like to have it on all characters. You paid for a convenience at that time, not a requirement. The argument that a person would feel crummy for buying a tool, using it for a while and getting their value out of it when something new or better comes out is weak tbh.

Tbh I still buy new tools when they come out with a glyph I want, and I am the one asking for something like this. Heck, I've played long enough to still have soulbound tools like the molten mining axe. I am a person who has bought multiple sets of tools from the gemstore already. whether justified or not, lots of people would probably feel like their cash tool was now second-rate and would resent “having” to grind out a legendary tool after making a cash purchase. Mad customers are not good for said:Īnd it is gonna feel really crappy for anyone who bought a gemstore tool with real money. Bounty + prospector = bye bye what’s left of platinum ore’s value.Īnd it is gonna feel really crappy for anyone who bought a gemstore tool with real money. Bounty + herbalist = no more valuable plants (even more than now). What your idea would do is tank the value of remaining gatherables even further, glyph of bounty is great on its own and silly combined with the others. And what do gathering glyphs have to do with ectos? Economy could use more sinks for multiple things before it gets more sources. Now look at ectos on a multi-year chart and see how cheap they still are relatively. It's not like Anet didn't think things through and didn't give VERY generous ways to benefit from glyph effects for both paying customers and non-paying ones.Silverburg.8632 said:Extra resources from something like this would help to keep the economy in check if anything, or have you not noticed in the past year the cost of globs has gone up over 30%? Secondly, Glyphs are not solely for unlimited tools, you can use them even on temporary/consumable gathering tools repeatedly without losing the effect ever.ANDIf you STILL don't feel like shelling out coin for permanent glyphs, there's Karma merchants that sell just about every known tool with every known glyph effect for consumable use for a decent conversion IMO. So even tools that previously lacked glyphs on purchase can make use of one's obtained through other means. Glyphs are surprisingly more QOL than the previous iterations of them given that they can now be applied to ANY tool, not bound to a specific one. Glyphs are actually in fact, a solution to a problem that caused Anet some severe backlash many years ago.I am sure this was something they had been brainstorming ever since the Watchwork Pickaxe debacle and any set with 'bonuses' thereafter.Rather than releasing single pickaxes that were superior to their counterparts in functionality and angering customers who bought the others, they developed this new system instead.Glyphs are obtainable a few ways -Specific Tools themselves come with them upon purchase-Black Lion Chests (With rotating types)-Trading Post, with some ranging as low as 20g You have a course of action and I suggest you take the option you already indicated. These items are perks not necessary to actually play the game. You can choose to support the game either through gold earning and conversion which in the long run costs you time only or pay money.ĭo you have any actual reasons other than what you have listed that might be valid business case reasons they should lower the price? Money must be made to keep this game running. So there is no problem here that needs solving. Your recourse is not to buy them and you have indicated that you are not going to.

The fact is you don't set prices or dictate what is fair to others. Your arrogance is getting in the way though of actual fact here. Obviously based on your statement they are not "worth" it to you. Drop the price to half and I'll buy them.otherwise I'll just continue using the in-game versions. Noob.6038 Boy, you guys sure are proud of your Unbreakable Gathering tools.you're trying to charge twice what they're worth!! I see that there's a slot in these tools for special Glyphs to improve their performance.the problem is they aren't available anywhere in the game, at least not in the game that I'm playing.
